The band blends its Southern rock sound with frequent Christian overtones, and has charted on both the alternative and Christian charts. Rinehart says the band members are aware of the different markets and try to reach both.
“I think we definitely do what we feel, but I would be lying to say there’s not some strategizing,” he says. “I think it’s probably harder not to be claimed as a Christian band than it is to be the other way. … Our faith is something that’s important to us, but at the same time we never wanted to be known as a Christian act. It just was something different, we felt like our music was meant for more people than just that. We didn’t feel like you had to believe what we did to like the music.”

“It’s a song about my dad. He’s a pastor. He just uh, he went through - if you know anything about preachers are, they just… You know, there’s a lot of stuff that gets said in the church. There was some stuff that got said at our church that actually turned out to not be true when it all came out, or whatever. I just thought it was a cool thing that my dad kept his integrity throughout that whole situation.
